Double Jogging Strollers

Two kids, one stroller, every mile.

Moving up to a double was intimidating at first, but it was less than a pound heavier and only 5 inches wider than my previous single. It was another expense, of course, but it was worth every penny in my opinion. This is the category I have the most miles in. Here's what's worked.

    BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 Duallie

The workhorse. More miles logged here than anywhere else, even when only one kid was riding.

BOB's warranty support is the reason I keep coming back. Things wear out — they fix them. The Duallie is heavier than you expect but rolls beautifully once you're moving.

Frequently asked

Do I need a double if I only have one kid right now?
If you don't have a stroller yet, your current stroller-aged child is not going to outgrow it and you're expecting a second, I'd say buy the double now. They're not dramatically wider than a single (the BOB Duallie is about 30 inches), they fit through standard 32-inch doorways, and the second seat happily holds a diaper bag, water bottle, and jacket when only one kid is riding. Otherwise, stick with the single until you really need it.
Are doubles too heavy for everyday use?
I went from the Alterrain to the Duallie — which is less than a pound difference. It is certainly more awkward to fold up and put in your car, but my wife and I could both manage the double. You stop noticing once it's rolling. These are engineered to glide, not to be carried.
When can a baby start riding in a jogging stroller?
Most manufacturers say 6 to 8 months for actual jogging — when the baby can hold their head up reliably. Walking with the stroller is fine from day one if you use a car-seat adapter. Every child is different and you should feel confident or always check with your pediatrician.
How wide is a double, really?
BOB Revolution Flex Duallie: about 30 inches at the wheels, which is only 5 inches wider than my single. Fine for sidewalks and most paved trails and gets through doorways. Tight on singletrack or narrow boardwalks. Measure the narrowest spot on your usual route before you buy.
