Blocks cold wind on the run and keeps bird poop off the seats when the stroller lives on the porch.
Bought for one purpose, used for two. Worth it if you're running through winter or if your stroller doesn't get to sleep indoors.
Cold-weather bunting

Two hundred bucks of bunting that turned spring, fall, and snow runs from a project into a habit.
Cheap blankets fall off, kids get cold, runs get cut short. This zips around the seat and around the kid — it's the difference between 'we'll see if we go' and 'shoes on, let's go.'

- How cold is too cold to run with a kid in the stroller?
- With the full setup (Blanket 212 bunting + weather shield + snow suits + hot water bottles), I'll run down to about 0°F. Much below that, I'm thinking very hard about the conditions and keeping the kids warm, but I have found that setup to generate a ton of heat and the kids have actually been too hot before even down that cold.
- Is the bunting just for winter?
- No — we use it in three seasons in Ohio. Winter, of course. But we elect for the bunting down much below 60 degrees because it makes things so much easier. We can dress the kids for the day if it's going to warm up but it's cold in the morning. They are incredibly versatile.
- Are weather shields worth it?
- Absolutely. These are another item that have made all the difference for me. In rain they keep the kids dry and in winter they block the cold gusts and help maintain a separate little atmosphere inside the stroller that's warm and cozy. They also double as a permanent porch cover if your stroller lives outside.
- What about the kid's hands?
- The weather shield helps tremendously for keeping the kids warm, even without gloves. For my kids, until they are around 2 years old, they struggled with the concept of putting their hands down in the bunting to warm them, meaning they had to have gloves in the cold, meaning no snacks. This is doable but slightly limiting in our experience. Once they can moderate, they can go without gloves in cooler temps with a weather shield without getting cold.
